FAMOUS PETS

ON: RELATIVES AND FRIENDS

OSCAR WILDE Observes:

Given the choice, I should always prefer having inferior relatives to having inferior friends.  The first condition merely reflects an non-culpable unfortunate DNA, while the second indicates bad taste, or an inadequate personality.

MARK TWAIN Remarks:

With regard to Mister Wilde's observation, his relatives readily agree with his judgment... of necessity.
